The Truth is in the Details

When I first had a vision of a vintage-Italian wedding, I thought of very rustic, Tuscan, vineyard-like setting, with soft twinkly lights and very earthy colors. Somehow, that original idea became a bit more grand as the wedding planning continued. As Morgan and I discussed attire, it really just seemed so appropriate to have a formal wedding. Let's face it, how many times in your life do you get to get all dressed up and fancy?

But really the whole reason how our wedding turned into a more fancy affair started with my wedding dress. I went into the bridal boutique thinking I wanted a dress that was a little more simple, flowy, even a little sexy. And of course I fell in love with a beauitful, super detailed with crystals and rhinestones, ivory silk organza gown that made me feel like a "bride." It was timeless and I had never felt so beautiful in anything that I had ever worn before.

The game changer....

The next item on the list was deciding the location, and that really, after seeing the venue we chose, was a no brainer. From then on, our Vintage-Italian wedding would be an elegant affair. It would be a night for us to take all of our guests to Italy....in style.

The venue...

So why Italian?? Since Morgan and I got engaged in Italy, and because I am a little obsessed with all things Italian, we thought it would be appropriate and really unique to go with this theme. And I couldn't have been happier with how everything turned out. It was absolutely perfect.

Here are some of the Vintage-Italian details:

Our Italian Invitations...made by yours truly!
Citrus water offered to guests upon arrival..glass jar  with grape vine detail
Our escort card board, inspired by all of the places we traveled throughout Italy. All of the names were placed on the back of mini Italian postcards
Our wedding cake, inspired from an Italian gate
Our table numbers were all of the places we traveled in Italy, enclosed in elegant vintage, gold frames
Our guests instead of a guest book sent Italian postcards with a sweet little message
and all of the postcards were placed in our Italian mailbox
Some Italian thrown into our programs J
And we offered our guests a cappuccino and gelato bar for a sweet Italian treat
All in all I think we did a great job at tying in our theme and keeping it a very elegant and timeless event. Which means a job well done!!

And now that everything from the wedding is starting to settle down a bit, Morgan and I are trying to get things settled with our house. Hopefully we will be in before Christmas!
